    Charles Smith, 50, of Manhattan was arrested on April 12, 2023, around 8:30 a.m. at the Riley County Courthouse on his Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. The warrant stems from an original charge of distribution or possession of meth with intent to distribute. Smith remains confined in the Riley County Jail with a total bond of $40,000.

    Officers filed a report for rape, criminal restraint, and aggravated criminal sodomy in Manhattan on April 12, 2023, around 10:00 a.m. A 25-year-old woman was listed as the victim and two unknown men were listed as the suspects. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.

    Officers filed a report for theft in the 300 block of N. 5th St. in Manhattan on April 12, 2023, around 10:00 a.m. A 44-year-old man was listed as the victim when he reported his black Specialized mountain bicycle was stolen overnight. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for theft in the 1000 block of Westloop Pl. in Manhattan on April 12, 2023, around 10:45 a.m. A 72-year-old woman was listed as the victim when she reported her Schwinn mountain bicycle was stolen. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,200. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.     Officers filed a report for identity theft and theft by deception in the 2000 block of College Heights Rd. in Manhattan on April 12, 2023, around 5:45 p.m. Cash Net USA and a 24-year-old woman were listed as the victims when it was reported a 44-year-old woman known to the female victim used her identity to obtain a loan worth approximately $1,100.

    Chad Long, 38, of Clay Center was arrested near the intersection of Brockman St. and Griffith Dr. in Manhattan on April 12, 2023, around 11:45 p.m. on his Marshall County District Court warrant for probation violation. Long’s warrant held a $10,000 bond, he is no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for burglary in the 200 block of N. 9th St. in Manhattan on April 12, 2023, around 11:00 p.m. A 52-year-old woman was listed as the victim when she reported an antique USSR military dagger was stolen out of her apartment. The estimated total loss associated with this case is approximately $1,000. Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers.
