The home-and-home agreement with the Pac -12 power finalizes the non-conference portion of K-State’s 2016 schedule. Following the opener at Stanford, the Wildcats will host Florida Atlantic on September 17 and Missouri State on September 24 at Bill Snyder Family Stadium to close out the non-conference slate. Officers with the Riley County Police Department responded to a vehicle and pedestrian collision near the intersection of Vattier Street and Juliette Street in Manhattan on October 12, 2015 at approximately 1:00 PM. Officers on scene found that a 2008 Chevy 1500 driven by Christopher Glover, 22, of Riley, Kansas struck Ashleigh Lawson, 21, of Manhattan who was crossing the street in an area not marked for pedestrian traffic. MANHATTAN, Kan. – The Kansas Department of Agriculture has been selected to receive a cooperative agreement totaling $2.25 million over the next five years from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. This FDA grant allows for collaboration between the KDA Agriculture Laboratory and the Dairy and Feed Safety program to expand animal feed testing and safety in Kansas. The funding provides KDA the ability to implement a feed safety program within the framework of the Animal Feed Regulatory Program Standards set forth by the FDA. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A new industry report shows that sales of farm tractors and combines are down in September as well down overall for the first nine months of this year. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers reported Monday that the 16,546 tractors sold nationwide in September represents a 12.5 percent drop from the same month a year ago. Year -to-date sales of tractors at 159,191 are down almost 1 percent from the same period last year. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) The latest government snapshot shows Kansas farmers have now planted 69 percent of their 2016 winter wheat crop. The National Agricultural Statistics Service reported Tuesday that about 34 percent of the wheat has already emerged. Harvest of fall crops also is making progress in the state. An estimated 76 percent of the corn has been harvested, well ahead of the 68 percent average for this time of year. About 37 percent of the sorghum and 31 percent of the soybeans also have been cut.
