Wamego Police found a deceased man in a garage in the 700 block of Maple Street Monday morning. The body has been identified as 31 year old Russel Hodges of Saint George, who was found shortly before 8 a.m. According to a news release from Wamego Police Chief Mike Baker, the nature of Hodges’ death is still under investigation pending an autopsy. At this time, Wamego Police do not feel the public is in danger.

Riley County Police Department Captain Josh Kyle told county commissioners Monday morning his department will partner with Kansas State University and the K-State police department later this month with a traffic plan as students move into dorms on Aug. 16 and Aug. 22. “We’re going to coordinating with K-State for the first time ever on two of their busiest days when students are going into on-campus housing,” he said. “We know that creates a lot of traffic concerns and then there’s additional concerns because of the North Manhattan project and other projects going on on campus. “Students are moving in…

Riley County Police arrested an individual listed on the RCPD most wanted list over the weekend. Early Saturday morning  Michael Vassar, 41, was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department. Vassar was taken into custody on 3 counts of failure to appear on charges that include a DUI…refusal of a breathalyzer test…and driving while suspended. Vassar is being held on an $8,000. ### Officers with the Riley County Police Department are investigating a report of motor vehicle theft in the 3000 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A Kansas agency doesn’t yet have to release results of its internal investigation into the death of a 4-year-old northeast Kansas boy. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that a federal judge’s order for the Department for Children and Families to release an investigative report and other documents regarding the 2013 death is on hold. U.S. Magistrate Judge Kenneth Gale stayed his earlier order following objections by the agency. Naomi Boone had sued the department following the death of her son, 4-year-old Mekhi Boone. WICHITA, KS. (AP) A man is donating the proceeds from 100 .22 rifles to raise money for a southeastern Kansas girl with pulmonary hypertension. The Wichita Eagle reports a New Jersey gun manufacturer so far has raised more than $52,000 for 4-year-old Grayson Sutton. The Sedan girl faces thousands of dollars in medical bills and expenses to travel for treatment in a Colorado children’s hospital every three months. Gun manufacturer Anthony Imperato heard about Sutton through a friend of the family. He says the guns cost about $30,000 to produce. A sunflower and the phrase “Get well Grayson” are etched…
