For the first time since 1999, K-State has declared two games a sellout before the season has begun. After selling out the season opener against Missouri State last week, no more tickets now remain remain for the North Texas game on September 15th. A very limited amount of tickets are still available for the four Big 12 games against Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and Texas, but plenty of good seats are left for the Miami game. (AP) Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby believes a multi-year television deal that could be worth as much as $2.6 billion could be finalized in a matter of weeks. Bowlsby also said during a stop at Kansas on Wednesday that a TV deal for the Champions Bowl, a new postseason game between the Big 12 and SEC, will be announced soon, and that officials from both conferences are ready to review five bids to host the game. Some much needed rain in the area will have an effect on Friday night’s high school football scrimmages. The Manhattan High, Rock Creek, and Blue Valley football scrimmages has been cancelled for Friday evening. The Rams will just have regular football practice on Friday. Scrimmages at Wamego and Frankfort will be moved to the teams’ practice fields. Wamego has cancelled their fall sports recognition, and will now start their scrimmage at 6:30. Frankfort will still have their scrimmage at 7:00pm on Friday. Riley County’s scrimmage will go on as scheduled at 7:00pm.

A report from Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor notes the Kansas Open Meetings Act requires government bodies to give notice of their meetings only to people or organizations requesting it in advance. If people don’t ask, they can’t complain about not being notified.
