A pair of TCU pitchers combined to shut out Kansas State baseball Sunday, as the Horned Frogs won the series with a 4-0 victory at Tointon Family Stadium. Riley County Police are investigating after a man reported his vehicle was stolen from his Manhattan home over the weekend. A 40-year-old man told police someone stole his silver 2011 Honda Accord, valued at approximately $5,000 from the 1500 block of Pierre Street. As of Monday, police had no word on a suspect. They’re asking anyone in the public with information to contact RCPD or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.
A Manhattan man is jailed on charges of child endangerment and aggravated battery. The Riley County Police Department says 29-year-old Joshua Downey was arrested Friday morning in connection to a criminal report originally filed in December. An online criminal complaint alleges the charges against a child born in 2019. The report also charges him with one count of child abuse. Downey was issued a total bond of $30,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail as of Monday’s report.
Officers filed a report of aggravated assault at approximately 1:46 a.m. on April 4, 2026 in the 1200 block of Moro Street. Tevin Anthony Colquhoun, 25, of Manhattan, was arrested at 3 a.m. on April 4. Colquhoun was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail. Officers filed a report of aggravated assault at approximately 9:03 p.m. on April 3 in Manhattan. A fourth Kansas State men’s player — and a second former Wildcat starter — is reported to have entered the transfer portal. According to a report from On3 on Sunday, K-State junior guard Abdi Bashir Jr. will find a new home for his senior season, not sticking in Manhattan with new head coach Casey Alexander. After transferring to K-State from Monmouth, Bashir emerged as the Wildcats’ primary perimeter threat before suffering a foot fracture early in Big 12 play that became a season-ending injury. One person was injured Friday morning following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 near Junction City, according to authorities. Deputies responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. Friday to eastbound I-70 near mile marker 304 for a reported injury accident. According to the report, Vicke L. Leece of Topeka was traveling westbound in a Nissan Sentra when she lost control, crossed the median and struck a semi driven by Erik T. Smith of Ashland, Kentucky. Leece was transported by EMS to Stormont Vail Hospital for medical treatment. Smith was not injured.
