Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins and United States House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy took the time to tour the new National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) on Saturday, April 28th.
Both Jenkins and McCarthy took the time to reflect on the years it has taken to get to this point. Jenkins was glad that Manhattan was chosen for the site. “It went through an extensive process that started several years ago, where we competed through a panel process. Based on all the criteria, it was a unanimous decision”, Jenkins explained.
McCarthy gave credit to Governor Sam Brownback and to what the state has provided in terms of land and resources. McCarthy said, “They are good partners in making sure this gets completed.”
Both were very impressed with the site thus far and look forward to watching the process move forward.
