A fire in Louisville Saturday night caused a significant amount of damage to Mayor Bobby Benton’s home. The high winds caused an electrical short, which then in turn started the fire. The entire family was home at the time of the fire, but everyone made it out safely.
Pottawatomie County Fire Supervisor, Bruce Brazzle, says “The walls are still standing, but the roof is gone”. Brazzle adds, the National Weather Service called in ten minutes prior to inform them of the high winds.
Although the single story house has been severely damaged, the family did the right thing when the fire began by evacuating immediately and calling 911.
