The Pottawatomie county sheriff’s department is investigating the death of a woman near the Little Grill on Dyer Road near the Tuttle Creek State Lake, reported Wednesday afternoon.

Sheriff Greg Riat tells KMAN the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office responded to a medical call at that location in rural Manhattan at about three in the afternoon. Emergency units responding located an unresponsive female in a vehicle in the parking lot. It was determined the female was deceased, and had apparently suffered from a gunshot.

The victim has been identified as a 37-year-old female of Manhattan.

An autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The Sheriff’s Office is investigating this incident, however does not suspect foul play at this time.
