A 61-year old Manhattan Woman was treated at Mercy Regional Health Center for injuries sustained during an aggravated robbery Saturday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Riley County Police Department Jessica Farmer told authorities that she was struck by a blunt object and her purse was taken from her as she was walking in an alley in the 900 block of Osage at around 1:30 p.m. Farmer described the suspect who fled as thinly built and about five feet eight inches tall wearing a black jacket and black hat. Farmer was unable to provide the suspect’s race.

Riley County police say that area residents who were contacted during the investigation reported to them that they saw a suspicious man in the area prior to the robbery. RCPD is asking anyone who has information regarding this incident or who may have seen a suspicious person in this area to call them at (785) 537-2112.
