    RCPD Report 5/31

    RCPDReportPolice responded to multiple complaints of shots being fired in the 2400 block of Walden Lane, in Manhattan on May 30th, 2016 at approximately 10:47 PM. Reports indicated that multiple rounds may have also struck an occupied residence in the 2200 block of Griffith Terrace. Police arrested Eric Crawford, 19, and Dillon Evans, 22, both of Manhattan, related to this incident. Crawford and Evans were charged with Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in City Limits, Criminal Discharge of a Firearm at an Occupied Dwelling and Battery. Bond was listed as $7,500.00 for each and they are no longer confined at the time of this report.

    Police responded to a report of a burglary to a residence in the 200 block of Main Street in Riley on May 30th at approximately 8:39 PM for an incident that occurred sometime during the previous 48 hours. Dale Fasse, 51, of Riley reported that an unknown suspect had entered his unoccupied residence and taken multiple miscellaneous items valued at approximately $3,200.00. Suspect(s) are currently unknown and police are asking for anyone with information on this crime to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

    Richard Lee Smith Sr., 62, of Manhattan was arrested for Failure to Appear in Riley County District Court. Smith was arrested while at the Riley County Police Department on May 30th, 2016 at approximately 10:20 PM. The original offense listed is Criminal Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Smith was arrested and is still confined at the time of this report on $15,000.00 bond.

    Tabius Shorter, 17, of Manhattan was arrested on the 30th day of May at approximately 9:50 PM while in the 2300 block of Fort Riley Boulevard. Shorter was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for Probation Violation. There was no bond attached to this warrant and Shorter remains confined at the time of this report.

    Benita Black, 56, of Manhattan was arrested on the 28th day of May at approximately 6:31 PM while in the 500 block of Humboldt. Black was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for Probation Violation. There was no bond attached to this warrant and Black remained confined at the time of this report.

    Lisa Butcher-Hoofard, 38, of Manhattan was arrested for Failure to Appear in Manhattan Municipal Court. Butcher-Hoofard was arrested while in the 400 block of Stone Grove on May 28th at approximately 6:02 PM. The original offense listed is DUI. Butcher-Hoofard was arrested and is still confined at the time of this report on a $12,000.00 bond.

    Aaron Dooley, 24, of Manhattan was arrested on the 28th day of May at approximately 12:10 PM while at the Riley County Police Department. Dooley was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for Making a False Writing. Bond was listed as $5,000.00 and Dooley was no longer confined at the time of this report.
