    RCPD Report: 9/9/21

    The following summary of calls for service/reports filed by the Riley County Police Department is a portion of those received by police. Some names, addresses, and case details are withheld to follow local, state, and federal law as well as in an attempt to protect community members from being victimized further. Those arrested are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    MANHATTAN, KAN. – 

    Officers responded to the report of an injury crash near the intersection of Tuttle Cove Rd. and Terrea Heights Dr. in Manhattan on September 8, 2021, around 8:03 a.m. When officers arrived on scene they found a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Andrew Spencer Tomb III, 78, of Manhattan had hit Tommy Hagadorn-Brecken, 7, of Manhattan while Hagadorn-Brecken was crossing the roadway. Hagadorn-Brecken was transported by EMS to Via Christi then to Stormont Vail by Life Star for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on September 8, 2021, around 3:43 p.m. Officers listed a 20-year-old female as the victim and a 30-year-old male known to her as the suspect. Due to the nature of this crime, no further information will be released.
