    Accidents and Incidents:

    The Riley County Police Department responded to a variety of incidents on February 8 and February 9, 2025, including accidents, criminal activity, and other law enforcement matters:

    • Accidents: On February 8, two notable accidents were reported, including one injury accident at 7:34 PM at 1011 Westloop Place (McDonald’s), Manhattan. Additionally, a non-injury accident occurred at Bluemont Ave & North 4th Street at 11:34 AM.
    • Battery and Domestic Incidents: A battery incident was reported at 11:54 PM on the 1200 block of Fremont Street, Manhattan. Another domestic-related incident occurred later in the evening at 10:43 PM.
    • Reckless Driving: A reckless driving incident was reported at 4:43 PM at Anneberg Park, Manhattan, with another following shortly thereafter.

    Arrests:

    Several individuals were arrested in connection with various crimes during this period:

    1. Michael Paul Beasley Jr. (36, Fort Lauderdale, FL) was arrested at 5:12 AM on February 9 for possession of marijuana at Manhattan Regional Airport. His bond was set at $750.
    2. Nicholas Michael Schmidt (23, Lenexa, KS) was arrested at 12:37 AM on February 9 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, following a traffic stop on Thurston Street. His bond was set at $750.
    3. Caesar Ray Leonard Brown (32, Wamego, KS) was arrested for criminal damage to property at 11:27 PM on February 8. He is being held with a bond was set at $2,000.
    4. Shirae Lashawn Jefferson (39, Prattville, AL) was arrested for DUI on February 8 at 5:21 PM in Anneberg Park. She is being held with a bond of $750.
    5. Ryan Allen Larson (22, Manhattan, KS) faced two separate arrests. He was initially arrested at 10:00 AM on February 8 for burglary, with a bond of $4,000. He was later arrested at 9:53 AM on February 8 on a failure to appear warrant, with a bond of $1,000. He was confined in the Riley County jail at the time of this report.
