AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Myles Turner, one of the top high school basketball players in the country, said Wednesday he will play at Texas, giving the Longhorns a lineup that could challenge for the Big 12 title next season. Turner announced his decision in a televised campus event at Euless Trinity High School near Fort Worth. An arrest was made Tuesday, regarding a burglary that took place a few days prior in Onaga. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday that they arrested Nathan Bell (18), of Duluth.  This arrest was the result of an investigation from a burglary reported on April 24th in Onaga.  During this investigation, several firearms were recovered that had been reported as stolen. Bell was arrested for burglary and theft, and his bond was set at $20,000.

After a gloomy sales tax reporting period last month for Manhattan, the numbers are up a little this time around. City Finance Director Bernie Hayen says the April reports, which actually reflect two months prior or February, are “inching up.” While big box stores were slightly down compared to April of last year, grocery sales were strong–“carrying the month,” according to Hayen. Retail sectors had generally mixed numbers.   The amount collected in the April numbers is nearly $806,747, up from last year’s $779,560. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Salvador Perez has gone from cold to hot in three games. Perez homered and drove in four runs, and the Kansas City Royals rallied for a 10-7 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night. Perez’s two-run double off Sergio Santos in the Royals’ six-run eighth put the Royals ahead. Perez’s four RBIs matched his career high. The Royals had scored only four runs in the eighth inning in their first 24 games.
