The University of Kansas has relieved Charlie Weis of his duties as head football coach, effective early Sunday morning. The news was reported on KU’s official athletics website. Defensive Coordinator Clint Bowen will take over on an interim basis. Weis was in the third year of a five year contract. Wizard of Oz fans of all kinds turned out for the Oztoberfest celebration in downtown Wamego. The event began with “Night at the Museum” on Friday evening, but a bulk of the activities were held on Saturday.
