A report of criminal damage to property was filed with Riley County Police Wednesday morning. The case reportedly occurred in the 1400 block of Fairchild in connection with an incident that occurred sometime the prior day.   Manhattan Christian College reported the damage,  after finding a rock sign with spray paint on it. Currently the subject or subjects responsible for this vandalism, which caused approximately $1,500 worth of damage, are unknown.    Those with  information about this crime are asked to contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers.

Reigning Big 12 player of the year Ross Kivett led the offensive charge as K-State held off Nebraska 10-6 on Wednesday night in Lincoln.  Kivett had three hits, scored two runs, and knocked in another against the Huskers.  Shane Conlon and Austin Fisher each led the Cats with 3 RBI’s. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Alex Gordon hit a three-run homer and matched a career high with four RBIs, leading the Kansas City Royals to a 7-3 rout of the Tampa Bay Rays in their series finale Wednesday. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Kansas House Speaker Ray Merrick is trying to blunt criticism of a proposal passed by legislators to end tenure for public school teachers. The Stilwell Republican said Wednesday the measure does not strip teachers of their right to due legal process when they face dismissal. The Kansas National Education Association contends the measure included in a school funding plan will eliminate protections against arbitrary firings.
