Currently the host of "KMAN's Morning News", Troy is a 30 year veteran of radio, nearly 20 in northern Colorado, where he served as the "Voice of the UNC Bears" while serving as the news and sports director for one of the oldest AM stations in the country. No stranger to Manhattan nor Kansas, Troy is an alum of K-State in broadcast journalism and grew up near Circleville. He began his broadcast career with KSDB-FM on campus while working part time at another radio station in town. He's married to the former Monica Haugsness of Seneca, who has patiently put up with his schedule for more than 25 years.

Kansas City Royals left-hander Ryan Yarbrough was placed on the 15-day injured list with what was classified as “head fractures” after taking a 106-mph line drive off the right side of his face Sunday. Royals manager Matt Quatraro said Yarbrough has three non-displaced fractures in different spots around his right eye. “He’s stable, improving,” Quatraro said before Monday’s game. “He never lost consciousness. He’s very aware of what’s going on around him. We don’t think at this time will require surgery. He’s getting further testing and we’ll have a better idea (of his prognosis) in the next 24 hours.”

After pulling out a dominating 56-40 win at Lawrence Friday night, the Manhattan Indians will be the seventh-seed when the KSHSAA 6A State Tournament begins this coming Wednesday. The Indians will meet Blue Valley North (19-3) to begin the tournament at Charles Koch Arena on campus at Wichita State University. Tip time will be 2:00pm. K-State football offensive coordinator Collin Klein has removed his name from consideration for the same post at Notre Dame. Heather Dinich of ESPN was first to report Friday morning that Klein declined an offer from the school in South Bend, IND, to remain at his alma mater. Klein was targeted by Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman after Tommy Rees left his post with the Fighting Irish for the Alabama OC job earlier this week. Wideout Phillip Brooks announced Tuesday that he will return for his sixth season of eligibility, providing a bridge from the 2022 corps to a group of young wide receivers expected to see time in the fall.
