Currently the host of "KMAN's Morning News", Troy is a 30 year veteran of radio, nearly 20 in northern Colorado, where he served as the "Voice of the UNC Bears" while serving as the news and sports director for one of the oldest AM stations in the country. No stranger to Manhattan nor Kansas, Troy is an alum of K-State in broadcast journalism and grew up near Circleville. He began his broadcast career with KSDB-FM on campus while working part time at another radio station in town. He's married to the former Monica Haugsness of Seneca, who has patiently put up with his schedule for more than 25 years.

Former Kansas State men’s basketball coach Bruce Weber will not return to the sideline this fall, instead turning his attention to analyzing games in a TV studio. Weber has signed on with the Big Ten Network for the soon-to-be started college basketball season, months after leaving his post at K-State. Weber coached the Wildcats for ten seasons, including winning two Big 12 titles, but left the bench following K-State’s elimination from the Big 12 Tournament earlier this spring.  The Cats finished 14-17 under Weber in 2021-22, their third straight losing season. The battle for the silver trophy is tonight as the top-ranked team in 6A, Manhattan High, visits Junction City. The Indians are the only unbeaten team on the western side in 6A, with Junction City at 4-1 and ranked 5th. Game time is at seven, with coverage on Newsradio KMAN from JC beginning at 6:30. Lengthy runs by Adrian Martinez and Deuce Vaughn backed up the Kansas State defensive effort Saturday as the Wildcats overcame some mid-game sluggishness to beat Texas Tech… Martinez ran for 57 and 18 yards for K-State’s first score just 40 seconds into the game and added a 69 yard trot when the Cats needed a statement drive in the 4th quarter, a run that put K-State back on top. The Indians are the top-rated team in 6A and are atop the KSHSAA West standings as they and Olathe North are the only unbeaten teams in 6A. It wasn’t so much a punch to the gut as it was a series of body blows that did in Kansas State Saturday afternoon as the Wildcats lost to Tulane 17-10. Michael Pratt’s legs put Tulane in position for the go-ahead score inside of six minutes remaining and his arm delivered the score that quieted Bill Snyder Family Stadium with 4:27 to play. Four consecutive possessions by Missouri ended with Kansas State intercepting passes and Phillip Brooks returned a punt 76 yards after a nearly hour-long lightning delay Saturday as the Wildcats cruised to a 40-12 win over the Tigers.
