Currently the host of "KMAN's Morning News", Troy is a 30 year veteran of radio, nearly 20 in northern Colorado, where he served as the "Voice of the UNC Bears" while serving as the news and sports director for one of the oldest AM stations in the country. No stranger to Manhattan nor Kansas, Troy is an alum of K-State in broadcast journalism and grew up near Circleville. He began his broadcast career with KSDB-FM on campus while working part time at another radio station in town. He's married to the former Monica Haugsness of Seneca, who has patiently put up with his schedule for more than 25 years.

After moving into the top spot in 6A with a blowout win over Topeka High last Friday night, Manhattan puts their 2-0 mark on the line at Hays tonight. The Indians took over the top spot in multiple polls this week after having upset Derby in week one, then besting Topeka High 59-7 a week ago. Four consecutive possessions by Missouri ended with Kansas State intercepting passes and Phillip Brooks returned a punt 76 yards after a nearly hour-long lightning delay Saturday as the Wildcats cruised to a 40-12 win over the Tigers. K-State had already built a 14-3 lead before the delay behind rushing touchdowns from Deuce Vaughn and Adrian Martinez and a defensive unit that didn’t allow positive passing yardage until late in the second quarter. Following Wednesday’s announcement by Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark that the conference would be seeking to open media rights negotiations with FOX and ESPN 18 months ahead of schedule, there are reports that those discussions have heated up talk of Oklahoma and Texas exiting for the SEC ahead of the expected 2025 date currently in place. The Big 12 has announced it is beginning conversations on new media contracts with Fox and ESPN, making the move to begin those discussions a full year-and-a-half ahead of the expiration of their current contracts. Kansas State men’s basketball continues to build it’s 2023 list of committments, gaining another four-star recruit Sunday as guard RJ Jones of Plano, Texas, announced his committment just days after making a visit to Manhattan. Jones officially visited four programs (Boise State, Cal, Oklahoma and Texas A&M) prior to his trip to Manhattan. The bracket for the Big 12 baseball tournament starting Wednesday has the Wildcats set to face second-seed Texas Tech in the third game of the day in Arlington. K-State finished seventh despite being swept at West Virginia over the weekend, while Texas Tech finished a game back of TCU for the regular season title and claimed the two-seed based on tiebreakers with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
